Work commitments being what they are, unfortunately Laputan Logic will remain out of action for the foreseeable future.

UPDATE: I thought I should point out that this blog is NOT dead, just resting.

Blogging for me has always been a slow process. It takes a lot of time and it's time that I just don't have a lot of at the moment. When I finally get some, you'll definitely start seeing regular posts here again.

Taking one last swing past Earth before heading off to Mercury.

NASA's punnishly named and tortuously acronymed MESSENGER spacecraft — that's MErcury Surface, Space ENvironment, GEochemistry and Ranging, got that? — doing a gravity assisted acceleration around Earth. It will finally go into orbit around the planet Mercury on the 8th of March, 2011.
