Here is a time-lapsed sequence of images taken over a 3 hour period of last week's lunar eclipse.
Lunar
eclipses occur during full moons when the Sun, Earth and Moon all line
up. Occasionally this conjunction is precise and all bodies lie exactly on the
same plane. In this case the Moon will pass directly through the Earth's
shadow.
